I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
and am available for Kettlebell coaching and will also be running
seminars locally.
Just when I thought I was really beginning to understand exercise
and training I met Stan and everything changed! I have trained consistently
for 13 years, mainly weight training but also mountain biking and
martial arts, and decided to turn my hobby into a career four years
ago when I did my diploma in fitness training and sports therapy.
I am now involved in the rehabilitation of people with neurological
disorders, principally Spinal Cord Injury (paralysis) but also Multiple
Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus injuries and Hydrocephalus.
The aim of the type of therapy I provide is to optimise the fitness
and function of areas of the body that have been compromised by paralysis
or nerve damage. It involves one-to-one exercise, stretching and massage
therapy to improve mobility and thus independence.
I personally feel the need to constantly learn new exercise
routines and therapies to question the boundaries of conventional
physical therapies and exercise. Kettlebell training certainly does
question boundaries and I feel their application in rehabilitation
and general training and health is yet to be fully expanded and appreciated.
Stan has improved my understanding of the movement patterns involved
with Kettlebell training I am able to utilise some of these exercises
to re-educate movement in my clients.
Training with kettlebells will get you very fit very
fast and will kick your metabolism into overdrive. High repetition
/ tabata style swings and snatches really do remould the body by shifting
fat off your frame very effectively and efficiently. Kettlebell training
will also build muscle, improve your flexibility and co-ordination,
strengthen your grip and your core muscles and identify weaknesses
in your existing exercise regime. Kettlebells make you work harder
all the time, there is no rest unless you actually drop the KB, even
then the 'bell will look up at you and sneer "Had enough yet?"
If you want all round fitness, quickly, and without
spending 1-2 hours in the gym doing the same old rubbish, get a KB
from Stan, get hold of an Intense Fitness Instructor and start kettlebelling.
