I got into Personal Training through my love of sport in general, particularly martial arts and weight training, both of which are about continued self-improvement. I have practised Shotokan Karate for 20 years but have also delved into full contact kickboxing, Thai boxing and boxing.
I have competed for many years within the Shotokan system winning various regional titles with the Leeds Karate squad. The highlight was winning the Nationals in 2001. I have always weight trained to enhance my Karate skills, always looking for the ultimate training system or tool. This led me to training with kettlebells. I used them myself for a while, but was unclear on what I was doing. It was when I met Stan & Sue Pike that it all changed and I learnt how to use the kettlebells correctly. I now utilise kettlebells in all of my own training and with a great deal of my clients. The results my clients and I are getting are fantastic, the main benefits being increased metabolism, fat loss, increased endurance and sports conditioning.
